Founded in 1975, MacKellar has built a track-record in manufacturing and engineering excellence spanning more than 40 years.

And since 2015, MacKellar has been part of the Ferguson Group, an internationally recognised marine engineering and niche shipbuilding business.

Based in Grantown-on-Spey, our location offers fast access to main transportation routes and ports and provides a unique catchment area for skilled manufacturing personnel given the regions rich heritage in offshore oil and marine industries.

Our on-site manufacturing and telemetry capabilities allow us to manufacture complex structures on a fully intergrated basis. This turnkey capability allows customers to reduce integration risk arising from multiple suppliers and delivers both cost and schedule reductions.

We provide upgrade and refurbishment solutions to existing equipment and assets in times of Capital Expenditure constraints.

In-house Telemetry Capability

At MacKellar’s we have the in-house capability to perform geometrical measurement and analysis to tolerances and specifications of ASME Y14.5 2009, ISO 1101:2013 or EN 1090-2.

Utilizing the latest metrology software to perform 3D measurement and analysis, we offer laser tracker assisted manufacture and verification throughout our fabrication and machining processes.

The co-ordinate measuring system is fully portable enabling both on and off site measurement acquisition up to 80 meters radially across a full 360° horizon, 290° vertical dome and repeatable measurement capability possible to ±0.05 mm.
